Focus areas: Biomedical Imaging · Biosensor Technologies

Two-year English-taught interdisciplinary programme run by TUM's physics department with the Munich Institute of Biomedical Engineering (MIBE), focused on biomedical imaging and biosensor technologies, AI applied to medical data, and radiotherapy methods. Distinct from the School of Engineering and Design's Medical Engineering master. Based at TUM's Garching research campus, approximately 15km north of Munich city centre, connected by U-Bahn (U6).

Under the revised procedure, stage 1 is a 120-minute written examination of 35 to 50 single-answer multiple-choice questions plus free-response questions, which can be taken online (proctored, with a fee of roughly US$25) or on site. The application window opens 15 April 2026. uni-assist VPD (Vorprüfungsdokumentation) required for applicants with a non-German bachelor's degree; APS certificate required for applicants from China, India and Vietnam.
