## Admission requirements

- Prior degree: First university degree. The economics strand is aimed not at graduates of a first degree in economics but at graduates of science, engineering, mathematics or computer science, requiring at least 140 ECTS in STEM and at least 15 ECTS in higher mathematics or statistics
- Minimum grade: Restricted admission (NC) for WS 2026
- Prerequisite credits: Economics strand: at least 140 ECTS in STEM subjects; Economics strand: at least 15 ECTS in higher mathematics or statistics
- Also required: Selection procedure: the final Bachelor grade counts for 51 percent and the result of the study aptitude test for 49 percent. The aptitude test is the Graduate Test for Economics, Business and Social Sciences (GTEBS). Master's applicants — EU and non-EU alike — apply directly via RWTHonline. RWTH verifies foreign documents internally: no uni-assist, no VPD, no application fee. Applicants may apply to at most 10 Master's programmes. APS certificate required for applicants from China, India and Vietnam.
